Accomplishments

COMMUNICATIONS / PUBLICATIONS / MARKETING

• Define and implement a comprehensive communications program, to include social media marketing, as well as print and electronic materials.

• Write, develop content for, and edit the ISM newsletter PRISM, published in print and online formats. Establish PRISM as an online publication; develop online subscriber community.

• Build audiences for 50+ ISM events yearly — conferences, lectures, readings, exhibitions, special performances, and more. Write press releases; tailor advertising campaigns: print, online, radio, social. Build Facebook community (doubled followers in six-month period).

• Develop content of the Institute’s website; oversee design updates and maintenance of the website; supervise migration and updates of four websites on Drupal content management system. Consult on student/admissions blogs, video components.

• Oversee brand consistency.

• Coordinating with designers, printers,videographers  etc, produce various Institute promotional brochures and materials, special booklets, etc.

• Manage publications, including the journal Colloquium with print and video/interactive CD components, and other publishing projects. Consult on student online literary journal.

• Work with faculty and outside agencies (e.g. Arts Council of Greater New Haven) to build and reinforce partnerships to increase the activity and visibility of the Institute, in the greater New Haven community and worldwide.

• Video (producer): Choral promo video. Conceive, plan, and implement a “random act of culture” event at Union Station in New Haven for ISM YouTube channel. Consult on Yale’s (internal) emergency management video.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT / PROCESS

• Oversee planning and production of conferences, symposia, lecture series, special performances and events.

• Develop budgets and financial reports for all components.

• Develop and introduce survey tracking instrument for Institute community.

• Analyze need, plan, and execute an overhaul of existing ISM relational database.

• Coordinate the creation and development of a professional-quality art gallery pilot program, in partnership with facilities administrator and newly-hired exhibit coordinator.

• Supervise the work of two full-time staff, two part-time staff, and several students.
